A Series For Those Joining My Shopaholics Anonymous Group-Sephora Brand Cosmetics

Sephora Brand Cosmetics

I allowed a Sephora employee to attack me this weekend. And by attack, I mean move aggressively at my face with a wand covered in some kind of pink glittery substance. Luckily for her, I am a sucker for anything pink, glittery and/or cosmetic. Nameless-Aggressive-Makeup-Lady ended up being my cosmetic savior (if you will). I am now a devoted follower of Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadow. It lasts all day (and many of my days are 20 hours at a time) without creasing!!!!! WHAT?! It’s $12 of magic. I am sporting Hawaiian Beach 52 for up to 20 hours of style right now.

A Series For Those Joining My Shopaholics Anonymous Group-L’Oreal Mascara

 L’Oreal Original Voluminous Mascara

We represent L’Oreal Paris—you know this if you’ve ever read our Web site. And if you know me, you know I tend to like expensive things…such as DiorShow Mascara. It’s pricey but it IS amazing, ladies. A couple of months ago I happened to hear our beauty team saying that L’Oreal Paris Original Voluminous Mascara is a fave of the beauty editor circuit. Obvy, I had to try it! And I was not disappointed. At around $6 (versus $24) my lashes have a new BFF.

Lux Team Ladies Play Dress Up at Chaus

When you sign up to work in fashion, you soon learn that it is not quite the dress-me-up-in-Dior experience as seen in “The Devils Wears Prada.” You schlep. You babysit. You plead. You prod. And sometimes, you find yourself doing things that you dreamed about as a kid, but may find horrifying as an adult person. Like modeling—see blog re: Cynthia Steffe sample sale.

Thus, Lindsay and Dania found themselves at the mercy of Stacie and me yesterday in the Chaus showroom.  Amongst the rows and racks of fall and holiday goodies, one could hear exclamations such as: “Get naked!” “Keep your shoulders down!” “Don’t look so awkward!” or “Where’s that metallic gold ‘Flashdance’ top? I love Jennifer Beals in that movie!”

The point? To bring a little depth to what is a truly fabulous collection that has some killer trend-forward pieces at a phenomenal value (Is that leather for under $200, you say?). So check out a few choice shots from our little fashion sesh with Little L and Little D. Hottie, hot, hot.

D and L pose in front of the Josephine Chaus logo in their metallic gold ‘Flashdance’-esque tops.

D sports a Lanvin-esque white silk charmeuse top from the August delivery (We love the exposed zipper up the back!) with a navy ponti pencil skirt featuring a killer rope belt with shiny gold hardware. Ahoy, matey!

I told Lindsay not to smile in all fairness to her! This classic heather gray tee comes with a removable gray pearl necklace. Two for one. What’s not to love?

The minute I laid eyes on this little number I thought Blake Lively in Rag and Bone! This tunic is the cutest little thing and so versatile—Dania kept her black jersey mini on underneath and it was adorbs. I, for one, want the tan leather utility belt it comes with.

Why so sad? Stacie just heard that this ivory leather jacket (that makes us think of the divine Mr. Rick Owens) didn’t go into production. Hotness, we will remember you always.

ARE WE IN A RECESSION? Well Even If We Aren’t There is a Blog I Recommend for Those Who Want Great Advice for “Right” Priced Fashion and Beauty

The recessionista is my go-to blog when I want to uncover “up-to the-minute” steals and deals on beauty and fashion. But here’s the thing, though it is dedicated to lifestyle on a budget, it always keeps the options high-end and happening. I love it! Sunday there was a nod to Neiman Marcus and a great Lulu Guinness vanity case (recession red). Plus, you are never far from great giveaways like the current Advanced Face Firming Lotion by Dr. Perricone. It’s all there and worth a daily peek!

AH BEAUTY: What Would We Do Without You!

Beauty is apparently found in the eye of the beholder. But I can assure you, no one that I know will deny that a little blush can make all the difference in the world, no matter how empirically beautiful you just might be…

Here are some of our agency’s favorite beauty blogs:

  • A Mom in Red Heels: This blog was started by Tammy, a self-professed beauty-obsessed mom. We love you Tammy and we get your obsession. Goodness knows just how easy it is to get obsessed with creams, potions and gels that can make anyone look just a little bit (if not a lot) better. This blog features products reviews and news from around the country—check it out!
  • Bella Sugar: this is the beauty outpost of the famous sugar blogs. First of all, I LOVE THE NAME! It makes me feel pretty just by saying it. Try it yourself. Do you suddenly feel like your lips are graced by a luscious sugary pink glaze that says: here I am, come and get me? Give it a whirl, you may find yourself on the right end of pretty.
  • Glam.com: this MAJOR fashion destination has a beauty arm: GlamBlush. The editor, India Jewel Jackson (is this really her name?), is one to watch and follow as she takes us on a beauty journey that will inspire you to experiment more (and with better results!)
  • Daily Makeover: This blog caters to girls 15-25—that tender young age where so many egos are formed. This is a great resource for news and reviews and will help any young lady find her way in those saturated (and often confusing) beauty aisles/departments…
  • The Domestic Diva: This tireless woman writes all day long on Twitter. She is a ton of fun to follow and has excellent tips that will encourage you. I am not a domestic gal, (though I keep a very nice 42nd floor apartment with a kick-ass view of Manhattan) but if I were she would be my guru.

Tomorrow FOOD!
